Letters received, 1859-1878.

Collection consists of letters and cards received from other Italian artists. Francesco di Bartolo writes of an upcoming painting exhibition in Naples and the need to apply more varnish to his canvases beforehand. Bartolo praises Pagliano's painting of "The Death of the Tintoretto's Daughter," mentions engravings requested by the architect Luigi Consoni and Pagliano's selling a tapestry to the Ospizio di San Michele. Giacinto Giganti responds to Pagliano's request for a sketch of a round bath near the Italian gate at Pompeii which he was unable to complete due to the severity of the winter there. A rough sketch of the bath and adjacent corridor accompanies the letter. Giganti also comments on the collaboration of architect Jacopo Morelli in this matter. Francesco Netti describes his nervousness concerning his participation in a painting exhibition for the first time. Enrico Gamba writes of a project involving the collaboration of Milanese artists and of personal commissions. Frederico Rossano mentions his upcoming visit to Milan to attend exhibitions and mentions colleague Domenico Induno.
